ICAP is pleased to announce a series of Winter Zoom talks organized by the Kelowna Canadian Italian Club, one of ICAP’s most recent and active members. Talks include:

 

1) A special preview of plans for “Our Legacy Project/La nostra famiglia italiana” by LNFI Co-Chairs Gord Hotchkiss and Don Rampone and news about their partnerships with the Kelowna Museum and ICAP.

2) The story of one of the West’s most notorious bootleggers, Emilio Picariello.

3) The unbelievable story of one of Canada’s most recognized artists, Sveva Caetani.

4) The story of Giovanni and Rosa Casorzo and how early Italian families planted some of the first seeds of agriculture in the Okanagan.

5) A look at Italian dialects and their evolution in Italian-Canadian and Canadian Italian emigrant communities.

6) The screening of the short documentary, Coming to Halifax, Conversations with Italian Women, the very personal experiences of ten women with Halifax’s Pier 21, to be followed by a conversation and Q&A with filmmaker and professor Nancy Spina.

The Kelowna Canadian-Italian Club is the social and cultural centre of the Italian community in Kelowna. Their members carry on cultural traditions by promoting the Italian language, heritage and culture, through education, food, music, and wine.
